PURPOSE: A screen split method is provided to split a screen into two portions when an electronic document is displayed, and to update one portion when a user reads the other portion so that it can avoid the user's seeing a screen flicker caused when a screen is updated. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of a user reading an upper portion of a screen in browsing an electronic document, the user pushing a screen update button when the user reading the first line of a lower portion of the screen, the upper portion being updated while the user is reading the lower portion, the user starting to read the updated screen of the upper portion, then the lower portion being updated while the user is reading the lower portion, and repeating the steps of reading the upper portion or the lower portion and pushing the screen conversion button until the user finishes reading the electronic document.
