PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cassette with a spring member comprising a few numbers of components and having a structure suitable for recycle. SOLUTION: The tape cassette comprises an outer shell case formed by combining an upper shell 2 and a lower shell 3, a couple of tape reels 9 contained in the outer shell case, a front cover 10 that is opened/closed in front of the outer shell case, and a lock plate 11 that locks/unlocks the front cover. A plate spring structure is adopted for a spring member 13 that energizes and depresses a head of an axis center of the tape reel 9, a spring member 2c that energizes and depresses the cover 10 in the closing direction, and a spring member 11e that energizes and depresses the lock plate in a lock direction, and the plate spring members are made of a recyclable plastics to be used as the same type of material as that of the outer shells 2, 3, the front cover 10 and the lock plate 11.
