PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping mechanism which surely unclamp a recording medium. SOLUTION: A clamping mechanism 1 is provided with a turntable 2, a mobile member, a projecting and recess member 4, and an arm member 6. The turntable 2 is provided with a placing face 8a on which a recording medium is placed. The mobile member is freely slidably supported on the turntable 2 and is energized toward the placing face 8a. The projecting and recess member 4 is displaced between a clamping position where one end part 4a projects from the placing face 8a and an unclamping position where one end part 4a recesses to the placing face 8a. The arm member 6 is freely rotatable and is provided with an arm part 42. When rotating, the arm member 6 is displaced between a first position where the arm part 42 goes between the turntable 2 and the mobile member and a second position where the arm part 42 comes out from between them.
