PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device, by which the exact seeking control is achieved when the focus jump to an objective layer and the seek to an objective address are simultaneously executed in the optical disk device. SOLUTION: An unmeasurable track cross signal in the focus jump period simultaneously executed with the seeking operation is interpolated in such a manner that the speed profile corresponding to the moving amount of an optical pickup 12 is selected from a memory 18 and the frequency of the above track cross signal is obtained from a speed curve produced from this speed profile. By this procedure, the moving amount and the moving speed of the optical pickup 12 in the radial direction of the optical disk 10 are exactly monitored, then the optical disk device where the exact seek for the objective address is carried out at a high speed with high performance is provided.
