MAGNETIC HEAD AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain stable recording/reproducing by reducing a gap between a magnetic head and a magnetic tape when the thin magnetic tape is scanned by the magnetic head the sliding surface curvature of which is matched with that of a relatively thick magnetic tape. SOLUTION: On the sliding surface of the magnetic head, a groove nearly parallel to a sliding direction is provided, and the width of the sliding surface is set larger than the core width of a side opposite the sliding surface.
