PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leucocyte classifying reagent capable of directly classifying leucocytes into four types, lymphocytes, monocytes, neutrophils, and acidocytes, by maintaining the leucocytes in an original state without damages or in a state close to it for a specified period of time when added to a blood dilution while erythrocytes are lysed in a short time, and measuring forward scattering light and lateral scattering light by a flow cytometer after the lysis of the erythrocytes. SOLUTION: The leucocyte classifying reagent contains polyoxyethylene (3) alkyl (C12 -C13 ) ether sodium sulfate, polyoxyethylene (3) alkyl (C11 -C15 ) ether sodium sulfate, or polyoxyethylene (3) alkyl (C11 -C15 ) ether triethanolamine, lyses the erythrocytes, acts on the leucocytes, and capable of classifying the leucocytes.
