PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out inexpensive and highly reliable display of high resolution by easily adjusting the angles of spatial optical modulation elements in assembling the modulation elements and reducing the influence of an angle deviation of each modulation element due to shock or a temperature change in an image display device for projecting an image optically modulated by two or more spatial optical modulation elements. SOLUTION: Each of projector optical engine parts 1a, 1b, 1c consists of a light source, a spatial optical modulation element (light bulb), an optical part consisting of a projection lens, an electric part for transmitting a signal to the light bulb, etc. Since the engine parts 1a to 1c are arranged at mutually different angles, pixels projected on a screen are arrayed at mutually different angles. Since the pixels on the screen are arrayed in two or more directions and the pixels are arrayed at random by the modulation elements 1a to 1c, an image of high resolution can be obtained.
