PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting cracks in a concrete wall capable of raising crack detection accuracy and a device thereof. SOLUTION: On one screen of image data picked up by a camera 31, the horizontal crack component of the cracks in an internal wall surface of the concrete wall is extracted through the use of a first coefficient matrix. The vertical crack component of the cracks is extracted through the use of a second coefficient matrix. The component oblique to the left of the cracks is extracted through the use of a third coefficient matrix. The component oblique to the left of the cracks is extracted through the use of a fourth coefficient matrix. As the cracks are divided into the four minute components in this way, it is possible to raise crack detection accuracy.
