PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge charged current charged in a capacitor or the like in a load part when being moved from a circuit continuity state to a circuit breaking state. SOLUTION: This circuit breaking device 1 is constituted such that an earth side terminal 11, a load side terminal, and a power source side terminal are installed in a circuit body 2, a moving plug 3 is movably installed in the circuit body 2, a current carrying part 41 of the moving plug 3 is not brought into contact with the power source side terminal 13 in a circuit opening position, and the current carrying part 41 of the moving plug 3 is brought into contact with the load side terminal 12 and the power source side terminal 13 in a circuit closing position. The earth side terminal 11 is movable between a contact position coming in contact with the load side terminal 12 and a separation position separating from the load side terminal 12, energized toward the contact position by the energizing force of an earth spring 19, the earth side terminal 11 is positioned in the contact position in the circuit opening position of the moving plug 3, and in the process of moving of the moving plug 3 from the circuit opening position to the circuit closing position, the earth side terminal 11 moves to the separation position against the energizing force of the earth spring 19.
