PURPOSE: A synchronizer of a manual transmission is provided to prevent rattle noise, and to improve shift quality and endurance of the transmission by reducing the contact distance of a chamfer of a clutch gear. CONSTITUTION: A synchronizer for a manual transmission is composed of a sleeve(6) engaged with a synchronizer hub, and moved axially; a clutch gear arranged at both sides of the synchronizer hub, and engaged with the sleeve; and a synchronizer ring synchronizing by frictionizing the clutch gear in shifting. First and second chamfers(30,32) are formed in the sleeve to synchronize with contacting to the synchronizer ring, and engaged with the clutch gear to transmit driving force. The second chamfer is longer than the first chamfer, and the phase angle of the second chamfer is different from the phase angle of the first chamfer. Noise is reduced, and shift quality is improved with preventing rattle or nibble by decreasing the contact distance of the chamfer.
