PURPOSE: In a plurality of oxygen sensor system mounted in an engine exhaust manifold, if a forward oxygen sensor and a backward oxygen sensor are mounted with changed right and left area by a worker' fault or wiring disorder, it is detected and notified to the driver. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting disorder of an oxygen sensor comprises a step of initializing all variables when a power is applied to an automobile, and of receiving an engine rpm, an intake air amount, a first oxygen amount, a second oxygen amount, a third oxygen amount and a fourth oxygen amount to set an operation area, and of deciding connecting state of a first oxygen sensor and a second oxygen sensor of a front end. If the connecting state of the first and second oxygen sensor is decided to be normal, connection state of oxygen sensors of a rear end is decided. If the connection of oxygen sensors of the rear end is decided to be normal, all controlling is finished to return to a main routine.
