PURPOSE: A pit excavating apparatus of a bridge pier is provided to reduce a construction cost and period and prevent the generation of accidents during an excavating work. CONSTITUTION: The pit excavating apparatus is coupled to the top surface of a bridge pier(50), and also the bridge pier is coupled with a plurality of lower fixing props(54) by interposing a rubber plate(56). The lower fixing prop is coupled with a steel post(60), and the steel post is installed with a transverse side support(62) and a longitudinal beam(64). The longitudinal beam has a rear reinforcing member and a vertical steel rail part(70) to which an electric hoist(74) is fitted. A wire rope of the hoist is coupled with a grab(82). The steel post and the steel rail part are connected with a reinforcing rope(68) to support the steel rail part to make it closely contact with the longitudinal beam. According to the operation of the hoist, the pit excavating apparatus excavates the inner bottom surface of the pier and discharge excavated soil from the pier.
