PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image re-formation optical system which is usable as a converter which covers not only a wide angle lens for a wide image angle but also a zoom lens of which image angle varies and a telephoto lens. SOLUTION: The image re-formation optical system, which is mounted on the image side of an image formation lens system and re-forms a primary image made by the image formation lens system into a secondary image having a desired magnitude, is provided with a field lens group FL which has a positive refractive power, a front group F which has a negative refractive power, an optical member group P1 for erecting the secondary image, and a rear group R which has a positive refractive power. A partial lens L1 which constitutes the field lens group FL which has a positive refractive power is detachable from the image re-forming optical system, thus at least two forms are available.
