PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable storage and deployment canister which properly protects an optical fiber cable when it is stored and deployed. SOLUTION: A guide track 50 which is wide enough to mount the cable is defined by an inner wall 20 and a guide track wall 30 which are stood on a base part 10. The inner wall 20 is partially provided with a holding tab 31 which suppresses the movement of the cable. An entrance slot for the cable is composed of an arc part 212 of the inner wall 20 and an end part 211a of an arc part 211 and an exit slot is composed of an arc part 215 and an end part 216a of an arc part 216. An outer wall 30 is stood along the base external edge 15 of the base part 10 and a flange section 61 is fixed to the outer wall 30. The cable is inserted into an entrance port 81 of the canister which is thus formed and wound on the outer peripheral side of the inner wall 20, extended along the guide track 50 through the entrance slot, and guided out of the exit slot and an exit port 82, so that the cable is stored and deployed.
