PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem about the fact that the link of a V5.2 interface can not be established in the case where an echo cancellation function is incorrectly set invalid when a hardware is initialized. SOLUTION: A C ch time slot is dropped (extracted) out of up data outputted from AN 1 to LE 2 by a time slot drop function 42, and on the contrary, a C ch time slot is dropped (extracted) out of down data by a time slot drop function 44. Flag pattern detection functions 43 and 45 detect whether the dropped time slot contains a flag pattern peculiar to the C ch or not. A control function 46 stops the function of an echo cancellation function 41 when the detection outputs of the flag pattern detection functions 43 and 45 are inputted into the control function 46 five times at the same time in succession.
