PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide network equipment test system that can confirm the normality of the network equipment placed at a remote place during operation without giving effect on packets on a network. SOLUTION: A special packet generating section 114 generates a special packet and transmits it to a network terminal 102 at a side to be tested. When a special packet monitor section 117 of the network terminal 102 at the side to be tested detects the special packet, a special packet decision section 118 instructs a return packet generating section 119 to generate a return packet. A packet transmission section 108 transmits the return packet generated by the return packet generating section 119 to a test side network terminal 101. When a return packet monitor section 115 of the test side network terminal 101 detects the return packet, a return packet decision section 116 decides the normality of the network terminal 102 at the side to be tested and the network 103 and informs a monitor control section 113 about the result.
