PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader and an image forming device which can obtain various information on a document by arranging a plurality of read sensors and perform the best image processing for read image information according to the obtained information. SOLUTION: This image reads an image of the document by arranging at least two read sensors in a conveyance path for carrying the document and is equipped with a 1st read sensor which is arranged in the conveyance path to obtain document information, a 2nd read sensor 12 which is arranged on the downstream side of the 1st read sensor to obtain image information on the document, and an image processing part 58 which performs control or image processing as to the image information obtained by the 2nd read sensor according to the document information obtained by the 1st document information.
