PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader, which can read images on both the top and reverse surfaces of the document and faithfully reads an image on either the top or reverse surface of the document by suppressing obliqueness to the conveyance path of the document, and an image forming device equipped with the reader. SOLUTION: On the upstream sides on the conveyance path of 1st and 2nd image read means which read the images on the 1st and 2nd surfaces of the document, 1st and 2nd obliqueness correcting means are arranged which correct obliqueness to the conveyance path of the document and then the 1st and 2nd surfaces of the document have their images read while both having their obliqueness corrected.
