PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-carrier receiver that realizes diversity. SOLUTION: A received signal by each antenna A-i is quadrature demodulated, becomes a received complex signal Ri and outputted to a signal changeover device 20 and a synchronization circuit 13-i. The synchronization circuit 13-i extracts synchronizing signals Si from a guard interval. A comparator 30 discriminates the most reliable synchronizing signal among n-sets of the synchronizing signals and outputs a number (corresponding to an antenna number) s of the synchronizing signal to the signal changeover device 20 and a synchronizing signal changeover device 40. The signal changeover device 20 and the synchronizing signal changeover device 40 respectively output a received signal Rs and a synchronizing signal Ss to a multi-carrier demodulator 50. Since the multi-carrier receiver 300 detects the synchronizing signal by using a feature of the guard interval before employing fast Fourier transform to demodulate a signal of each subcarrier, the multi-carrier receiver can realize diversity taking into account a sum of effects of all subcarrier multi-path fading.
