PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform energy regeneration independent of a series circuit of an energy regeneration diode Dr and a resonance reactor Lr to improve the efficiency of energy regeneration. SOLUTION: A pulse power supply generates pulses from an initially charged capacitor C0 for charging and discharging by on-controlling a semiconductor switch SW. The semiconductor switch is composed of a crossed circuit of a plurality of semiconductor devices SW1 to SW4 , and kickback energy from a load is regenerated to the capacitor C0 for charging and discharging through the crossed circuit. A reactor L0 and a magnetic compression circuit 2 formed by connecting saturable reactors and capacitors are placed between the semiconductor switch SW constituted of the crossed circuit and the load LP.
