PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit information on a gas leak, etc., to a center monitor device while suppressing the power consumption. SOLUTION: A device is equipped with a power unit 3 which uses as its power source a secondary battery chargeable from an external power source, a gas detection unit 6 which detects a gas to be measured, a transmission and reception unit 4 which receives and transmits the gas detection signal from the gas detection unit 6 by radio and receives an external radio signal, and a control unit 7 which controls the actuation of the gas detection unit 6 and the supply of the electric power of the power source unit 3 to the respective units, and adjusts the actuation cycles of the gas detection unit 6 according to the electric energy of the power source unit 3 and last gas concentration detected by the gas detection unit 6.
