PURPOSE: A backlight is provided to prevent abnormal luminescence in the end of a light emitting surface of a light guiding plate by integrating the part of the edge of the reflector with the end of the light guiding plate or placing the edge of the reflecting plate inside the end of the light guiding plate. CONSTITUTION: A backlight is composed of a light guiding plate(1), a light source(2) arranged at the side of the light guiding plate, a reflecting cover(3), a reflecting material(4), a reflecting plate(5), a diffusion plate(6) and first and second prism sheets. The section of the light guiding plate is used as an incident ray section, and the lower part of the light guiding plate is used as the reflecting surface. The upper surface of the light guiding plate is used as the light emitting surface, and a diffused reflection part is installed in the reflecting surface. The reflecting surface is faced to the reflecting plate, and a diffused reflection restricting part is mounted in the end of the incident section. A light absorbing part is installed in the reflecting plate opposite to the diffused reflection restricting part, and the part of the edge of the reflecting plate is integrated with the end of the light guiding plate or placed inside the end of the light guiding plate. |
