PURPOSE: A method for improving a caller ID display speed in a mobile communication terminal is provided to primarily retrieve the history of called numbers by a caller ID when receiving a call, retrieve the list of telephone numbers, and display information of an object identical to the caller ID. CONSTITUTION: If a caller ID is received(S210), a control unit retrieves an object identical to the caller ID with reference to the history of called telephone number stored in a memory(S220). If the object identical to the received caller ID is retrieved from the history of the called telephone numbers(S230), the control unit displays information of the object on a display unit(S270). If the object identical to the received caller ID is not retrieved(S230), the control unit retrieves the object identical to the received caller ID from the list of telephone numbers(S240). If the object identical to the received caller ID is retrieved from the list of the telephone numbers(S250), the control unit displays information of the object on the display unit(S270). If the object identical to the received caller ID is not retrieved(S250), the control unit displays the received caller ID on the display unit(S260).
