PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine and its control method which automatically register a mail address entered into received mail. SOLUTION: The mail address is extracted from the body of the received electronic mail (S1). When a character string corresponding to a mail address is present in the received electronic mail body (Yes/S2), a character string corresponding to the name of an address is extracted from the electronic mail body (S3). The mail address extracted at S1 is stored in a system memory of a center control part 6 (S4). Further, the address name extracted at S3 is registered in the system memory (S5) while related to the mail address. The mail address and address name stored in the system memory are registered (S6) while related to a one-operation dial button. Therefore, when the mail address is entered into the received electronic mail, the mail address and address name can automatically be extracted and registered in the memory.
