PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration suppressing mechanism which is capable of more efficiently suppressing vibrations without so much changing the conventional structure and an HGA having the vibration suppressing mechanism. SOLUTION: This mechanism has a vibration member which has a resonance frequency equal to one resonance frequency of an excitation system or near the same and is at least partly inserted between this excitation system and an object to be suppressed of the vibrations. This vibration member is fastened at one end to the excitation system and is fastened at another end to the object and is so constituted as to reduce the apparent resonance amplitude of the object by the resonance of the vibration member.
