PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tire tread using silica as the rubber-reinforcing filler, having improved processability of the nuvulcanized rubber and the shortened time for its vulcanization. SOLUTION: This rubber composition is obtained by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a rubber polymer component comprising a diene rubber with (1) 30-70 pts.wt. of silica as the rubber-reinforcing filler, (2) 5-13 wt.%, based on the silica, of an organosilane, (3) 10-50 pts.wt. of carbon black, (4) 1-5 wt.%, based on the silica, of N,N'-diphenylguanidine and (5) 0.1-0.5 wt.%, based on the silica, of tetrabenzyl thiuram disulfide.
