PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a signal without delaying the display of any sub-picture or the reproduction of a voice according to a channel switching instruction from a user. SOLUTION: A de-multiplexer 25 divides an MPEG stream into video data, the sub-picture data of each channel, the audio data of each channel, and navigation data. A switch 31 selects the sub-picture data for one channel from among the sub-picture data for 32 channels inputted from sub-picture buffers 30-1-30-32 to each input terminal, and outputs the sub-picture data to a sub-picture decoder 32. The sub-picture decoder 32 decodes the sub-picture data to be inputted from the switch 31, and outputs a sub-video signal to be obtained to a mixing circuit 28.
