PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to clean the rubbish such as paper powder, etc., having gotten in between platen glass and a transparent scoop sheet. SOLUTION: This image reader is constituted such that it has a press member 21 opposed to a transparent film member 22 and regulating the motion of a manuscript, and it can retreat the above press member in the direction of parting from the above transparent film member. This has a film holding member for holding the above transparent film member capably of mounting and removal, and the above film holding member is attached capably of mounting and removal to the device body.
