PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing unit that can surely and efficiently manage a bus configuration, where a plurality of devices are connected on a bus, at all times, so as to provide a proper bus configuration. SOLUTION: An acquisition means 112 acquires information, with respect to bus configuration, by using a bus interface (interface in compliance with the IEEE 1394 standard or the like). A storage means 103 or 104 stores bus configuration information obtained by the acquisition means 112. A recognition means 102 recognizes the state of bus configuration obtained by the acquisition means 112, and a display means 110 displays normal bus configuration information in the storage means 103 or 104, in the case of not being a normal bus configuration, according to the recognition result by the recognition means 102.
