PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control circuit, an electrooptical device, a display device and a display control method which accomplish both high picture quality and low power consumption at the same time and are made suitable for an active matrix type liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: An LCD controller 60 includes a control circuit 62, a RAM 64, a host I/O 66 and an LCDI/O 68. The circuit 62 includes a command sequencer 70, a command setting register 72 and a control signal generating circuit 74. The register 72 includes a signal driver setting register 310, a scanning driver setting register 320 and a control register 330. The sequencer 70 sets a display area (a non-display area) in a line block unit for a signal driver 30 and a scanning driver 50 based on the register 72 which is set by a host. The LCD controller 60 supplies image data corresponding to the set display area and conducts display timing control for the drivers and a power supply circuit 80.
