PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor image forming apparatus capable of effectively forming the final image with excellent color reproducibility at a low cost. SOLUTION: The multicolor image forming apparatus forms an image by superimposing color images formed in corresponding image forming stations arranged around a photoreceptor 1 and in the direction in which paper is carried. In the multicolor image forming apparatus, the transmissivities of filters 17 used in the exposure processes of the corresponding image forming stations are set so as to vary toward the further downstream image forming station from the upstream image forming station.
