PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive compact zoom lens of high resolution and with less distortion, and constituted of a small number of lenses by effectively arranging an aspherical lens molded of resin material. SOLUTION: The zoom lens is constituted of a first lens group and a second lens group in order from an object side, the first lens group has a negative refractive power and the first lens group is constituted by arranging a first meniscus lens having a negative refractive power (hereinafter, referred to as a negative lens) and a second meniscus lens having a small positive or negative refractive power, the second lens group has a positive refractive power, and the second lens group is constituted by arranging a third lens as a lens having a positive refractive power (positive lens), a fourth meniscus lens having a small positive or negative refractive power, a fifth lens as a negative lens, and a sixth lens as a positive lens, and the power is varied by shifting the first lens group and the second lens group.
