PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable learning device whose display picture is kept steady even when operated with one hand and which enables concentrated learning free from erroneous operation wherever it is operated. SOLUTION: The portable learning device is so constituted that a first operation means 4 and a second operation means 5 are arranged on both sides of a display section 2 respectively, and the first operation means 4 is composed of each identically shaped upper and a lower pushbuttons 6, 7 and a long sideways pushbutton section 10, extending in right and left directions between the upper and lower pushbuttons 6, 7, with both ends rising higher than the upper and lower pushbuttons 6, 7 to form identically shaped pushbuttons 8, 9. A switch circuit is provided under each pushbutton 6, 7, 8, 9. The long sideways pushbutton section 10, when either one of the left or right pushbutton 8, 9 is pressurized, inclines to the pressurized side with the central section 10b of the long sideways pushbutton section 10 functioning as the fulcrum to close the switch circuit.
