PURPOSE: A circuit for controlling a traffic signal using a light emitting diode is provided to enlarge life cycle and reduce the power consumption by forming a multitude of light emitting diode as a matrix shape. CONSTITUTION: A full wave rectifier(50) extracts a direct current control signal of a maximum size from an alternating current control signal. A protection portion(60) is composed of a delay portion, a switch portion, a discharge portion, and the second transistor. The delay portion delays the signal applied from the full wave rectifier(50) during a predetermined time. The switch portion removes a noise signal from the signal of the delay portion. The discharge portion intercepts gradually a control signal of the switch portion. The second transistor outputs the control signal and intercepts the noise signal. A light emitting diode portion(70) is formed with a multitude of light emitting diode.
