PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring dioxins at low costs by a simple and easy method. SOLUTION: In the method for detecting or determining dioxins, immunoassay using an anti-8 chlorinated dioxin antibody is performed on a sample, and the presence of dioxins in the sample is detected, or the amount of the dioxins is computed on the basis of the results of the immunoassay. An organic solvent is added to a soil or a sediment sample, and the dioxins are extracted by applying ultrasonic waves for 20 minutes or more. The extracted dioxins are analyzed by the immunoassay using the antibody to dioxins in the method for detecting or determining the dioxins in the soil or sediment sample. A kit or a detecting apparatus for detecting or determining the dioxins in the soil or sediment sample for implementing the method is provided.
