PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability and to prevent a wrong operation in an imaging device connected to a network. SOLUTION: The imaging device, an image gateway, and a client computer are connected through a network, and the imaging device uploads subdata of stored image data to the image gateway and releases the subdata onto the network. In such a case, an operation mode of the imaging device fitting user's familiarity is set. For instance, in the case of a beginner user, update and upload operations of released images can be handled comfortably and free from operation error by providing operation limitation to the update and upload operations.
