PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device which can rapidly discriminate a desired musical piece set while checking the contents of musical pieces. SOLUTION: First a processing control section reads UTOC information, etc., out of a disk, analyzes the group information included in the UTOC information and forms a group management table. When a group scan is thereafter instructed during ordinary reproduction of musical piece data (track 3), the processing control section searches the top track (track 8) of the next group according to the group management table and reproduces the searched musical piece data by the prescribed time. When the reproduction is ended, the processing control section searches the top track (track 13) of the next group similarly according to the group management table and reproduces the musical piece data by the prescribed time. The processing control section performs such scan reproduction for all the groups before the ordinary reproduction is instructed.
