PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape capable of preserving data for a long period of time at a high recording density. SOLUTION: The magnetic tape in which a magnetic layer consisting of an oxide magnetic material is formed on a carbon film by evaporation and the magnetic tape in which the magnetic layer is formed on a carbon film by coating or evaporating a magnetic paint are provided.
