PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit building excellent in lighting efficiency and having good ventilation efficiency in a room space. SOLUTION: In the unit building, a roof unit 30 having a downward opening 302 is put on a box-shaped housing unit 20 having an upward opening 202, a lighting window 301 over an approximately overall length in the direction of height is provided to the approximately vertical wall surface of the roof unit 30 and, at the same time, a lighting window 201 over an approximately overall length in the direction of height is provided to a wall surface of the housing unit 20 located downward of the lighting window 301.
