PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal joint having a joint fork consisting of a single piece and a cruciform cross pin, with an upper arm portion lower in rigid by forming a cutout in the upper arm portion of the fork for securing a gap where the cross pin is assembled in a hole portion of the fork. SOLUTION: A cross body 2 at the center of the cruciform cross pin 1 is formed separately from protruded pins 3 so as to be adaptable for disassembly and assembly. The pins are removed therefrom and the cross body 2 is mounted thereon, and the pins and the cross body are joined together in the hole of the fork with bolts 4 and nuts 5.
