PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow easy observation of the operating state of a printer as well as information on paper 4 of the printer 1. SOLUTION: A paper storage part for storing paper 4 in a stacked state in a paper package, and a printing mechanism part for the paper are provided in a body case 2. The base end part of a cover body 13 that can open/close the paper storage part is rotatably and slidably mounted to the body case 2, and printed paper can be discharged from a clearance-like paper discharge port 20 between the free edge of the cover body 13 and a fixed cover 3 on one side of the upper side of the body case 2. The cover body 13 is provided with a first display part of oblong shape for displaying information on the size or the like of the stored paper 4, while a second display part 42 observable through an aperture part 44 formed in cutout shape at the base end side part of the cover body 13 is provided on the upper face of the body case 2.
