PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incinarator which inhibits generation of dioxin by sufficiently mixing unburnt gas generated in burning refuse with secondary air and burning the gas. SOLUTION: The incinarator comprises a furnace body 5, combustion fire grates 6, and secondary air supply nozzles 7. In the furnace body 5, a primary combustion chamber 3 to which refuse is thrown is formed, and a secondary combustion chamber 4 whose horizontal section is rectangular is formed above the primary combustion chamber 3. The combustion fire grates 6 are formed on the bottom of the furnace body 5 for mixing the refuse with the primary air supplied from below to be burned. The secondary air supply nozzles 7 are disposed in the secondary combustion chamber 4 of the furnace body 5 for supplying the secondary air to the inside of the furnace body 5. The secondary air supply nozzles 7 are disposed on four stages at the center in the cross direction of a front wall part 4A of the secondary combustion chamber 4 at prescribed intervals in the vertical direction.
