The invention relates to pharmaceutical preparations and foodstuff compositions for the treatment and curing of diabetes and methods for production thereof. Said preparations and compositions are characterised in comprising water with a deuterium content of 0.01-135 ppm, corresponding to a HDO content of 0.021-287 mg/l and/or organic compounds with reduced deuterium content.
