PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small inexpensive ferrule for multi core fiber connectible with high precision a plurality of optical fibers and also to provide an optical fiber connector equipped with this ferrule. SOLUTION: The jack housing 72 and the plug housing 73 of a four-fiber type optical fiber connector are each equipped with a four-core fiber ferrules 55, 56. For four-core fiber ferrules 55, 56, guide holes 50, 52 through which guide pins 51, 53 are inserted into the ferrule body, and fiber holes 71 through which optical fibers are inserted, are formed. The positional accuracy of the guide holes 50, 52 is extremely high relative to the fiber holes 71, so that optical fibers can be abutted on each other with high precision by inserting the guide pins into the guide holes and connecting the jack housing with the plug housing. The ferrule can be manufactured highly accurately at a low cost by electroforming; besides, it is small in size. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
