PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve void coefficient without losing pressure loss in a core with mixture of uranium fuel and MOX fuel by partly changing fuel assembly shape of MOX fuel from the shape of uranium fuel. SOLUTION: In a MOX fuel assembly, which the width of channel box is formed smaller than that of uranium fuel assembly without including plutonium and mixed together with the uranium fuel assembly in the core, the step number of spacer holding fuel rods, in axial direction is made smaller than that in uranium fuel assembly.
