PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of a storage memory used to detect and to correct user data errors and to reduce the total amount of access. SOLUTION: User data and parity data in signals are separated by a memory control circuit 14. The user data are recorded into a shock proof memory 15 which absorbs fluctuation in the input output data rate caused by external disturbance. The parity data are recorded into an error correction memory 16. Moreover, a sector process such as descramble or the like is conducted by a sector processing circuit 18 immediately prior to transfer the data to a system. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
