PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head structure wherein no track shifting occurs. SOLUTION: A laminated body 10 in which a metal magnetic layer 8 set thicker than a necessary track width and a nonmagnetic substrate 9 are alternately laminated through a crystalline glass as adhesive material is cut along a cutting line 11 in accordance with a predetermined angle and, while a track section constituted of the metal magnetic layer is in the state of a gapped bar 1, a track regulation groove (a) 2 is machined by using a boat-shaped grinding wheel (e.g. tip width 5μm, angle 60°) form a sliding surface direction so that butting the metal magnetic layers is prevented. Thus, the head chip 7 of a structure in which no track shifting occurs is obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
