PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sentence classifying device for classifying inputted sentences, wherein a keyword table is prepared to register one or a plurality of keywords corresponding to classification numbers and the classification priority order in advance, the keywords are successively retrieved to be classified into the classification number of the agreed keyword, the number of keywords is reduced by classifying one or the plurality of keywords by combination to realize the detailed classification, and further the classification into the desired classification address is realized with priority by determining the priority classification order. SOLUTION: This sentence classifying device comprises the keyword table for registering one keyword and its priority classification order corresponding to the classification number, and a keyword matching means for taking out the classification number when the inputted letter string is partially or fully agreed with the keyword of the classification number determine in the priority classification order when the letter string is partially or fully agreed with one of the keywords in the keyword table, on the other hand, taking out the classification number agreed with one of the keywords when they are not agreed, and the inputted letter string is classified into the taken-out classification number.
