PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface processing method for reactor members for effectively removing a surface layer such as Cr lacking layer and work hardening layer which are thought to be causes of generating stress corrosion cracking (SCC) at low stress. SOLUTION: For the surface processing method for a reactor member on which the work hardening layer is produced by the heat treatment and the Cr lacking layer of deposited oxide film is produced by bend-processing (step 1) the reactor member and heat-treating (step 2), the work hardening layer and the Cr lacking layer are removed from the reactor members. For this purpose, one of pickling, grinding, electrolytic polishing, electric discharge machining, surface grinding, surface reduction/softening, wet blast and laser machining is applied (step 3).
