PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article easily deformed to a shape suitable for developing absorbency and capable of retaining the deformed shape stably while a user is wearing it. SOLUTION: The absorbent article has a main body 10 equipped with a liquid-permeable, surface sheet and a liquid-impermeable, backside sheet 3, and a liquid-holding absorbent body 4 put between the sheets. At least two strip-shaped, elastic expanding members 6, 6 are secured respectively to both end parts 6a, 6b on the backside sheet 3 of the main body 10. The main body 10 is deformed to have a dent on the surface sheet 3, and the absorbent material is worn by the user with the deformed shape retained by the elastic expanding members 6, 6.
